The 69th Yokozuna from Mongolia. He stepped onto the dohyō for the first time in 2001, retired in 2021, and acquired Japanese citizenship. During his active career, he achieved a record 45 tournament victories in sumo history.
After retirement, he has dedicated himself to the development of sumo as Miyagino stablemaster. His 84 tournaments as Yokozuna, 45 top-division tournament victories (including 16 perfect tournament victories), and 1,187 career wins all stand as all-time records.
